Thick Egg Pie - No oven baked

Christmas, it's almost in the air. The perfect time to celebrate with friends and family and the perfect time to enjoy your favorite goodies. Egg pie will always be the best choice for this season next to banana bread when it comes to food business ideas. So what else are you waiting for start baking your own egg pie products that can truly satisfy people's cravings. Here is a recipe guide for you.

Recipe name: EGG  PIE
Preparation time:15 mins
Cooking time: 30-35 minutes


Ingredients:
Crust:
2 cups APF
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 cup butter or vegetable shortening
1/2 cup cold water
Egg custard:
1 cup milk powder
3/4 cup sugar
3 tbsp all purpose flour
1 cup liquid milk
3 eggs + 1 egg yolk
1tsp vanilla

Crust preparation:

Combine in a large bowl 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 tbsp brown sugar and 1/2 tsp salt. Mix well, then add  1/3 cup butter or vegetable shortening and 1/2 cup cold water. Mix it using bare hands  to form a dough and knead for at least 5 minutes until the dough is smooth enough. Divide the dough into 4 pieces. Flatten the dough using a roller , flatten it according to your desired thickness. 

Egg custard preparation:

Combine  in a separate bowl 3 tbsp  of all-purpose flour, 1 cup milk powder, 3/4 cup  of white sugar,1 cup liquid milk and 3 eggs plus 1 egg yolk. Mix thoroughly to until the texture of custard is uniform. Or homogenous. Add 1tsp vanilla essence  and mix well. Use strainer to sift the egg custard.  Beat 1  piece egg white in a bowl until the stiffed peaks.

Grease the molders with butter or oil. Assemble the crust, use fork to build holes and fold the edges. Fill the container with the assembled crust, with the egg custard batter and add on top the beaten white egg.  You can also mix and fold the beaten egg white if you want. The amount of ingredients can make atleast 4 lanyera molders. 

Pan baking:

Put a wire rack inside the pan and preheat for 10 minutes in a low heat. Place the molders inside the pan and cover. Pan bake for 35-45 minutes. Cool for few minutes and carefully remove the pie from the molder and its ready to serve.

Oven baking:

Set oven to 150C  temperature and oven bake the egg pie  for 35 minutes.
