Recipe: Chocolate Cake
Preparation time: 10minutes minutes
Cooking time:1 hour and 10 minutes
Ingredients:
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 tbsp white vinegar
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 cup hot water
1 cup white sugar
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup cocoa powder
1/2 cup full cream milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp coffee powder
Combine white sugar with a cup hot water. Add vegetable oil, and white vinegar. Mix them all together until sugar is dissolved.
In separate bowl combine all purpose flour with baking soda, cocoa powder, powdered milk, salt and instant coffee powder. Sift all the dry ingredients before mixing.
Combine the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly and add some vanilla essense. Grease the pan molder with oil or butter or use parchment paper and tap for several times to get rid of bubbles. Preheat the steamer with water.
Cover the cake molder with aluminum foil.
Place the cake molder inside the steamer and bring to boil for 60 minutes in medium heat. Wrap the cover with clean cloth.
When cooking is done do the tooth pick method, if it comes out clean then its ready. After steaming it, remove the cake from the steamer and cool the cake for 5-10 mins in an ambient temperature.
Choco frosting:
1 cup evaporated milk
½ cup white sugar
1/4 cup all purpose cream
1/3 cup cocoa powder
¼ cup all purpose flour
2 tbsp butter
Procedure:
Sift 1/4 cup all purpose flour and 1/3 cup cocoa powder in a bowl and add 1/2 cup white sugar. Mix it well. Add 1 cup of evaporated milk or fresh milk and add 1/4 cup all purpose cream. Mix thoroughly untill it becomes smooth. Cook in medium heat and stir gradually to dissolve all the powder. Add 2 tbsp butter and wait untill it melts. Mix until uniform texture. Cool it before adding it to the cake.
And now assemble the cake, cut it in the middle and add some frosting. Place the other half of cake over the cake with frosting and add the remaining chocolate frosting on top. Or simply just add it as coating. When the cake is ready, carefully transfer the cake in a clean plate and serve.
